Eggstravaganza and eggcitment

Every time I write a news article I cannot help but want to being with - what a busy time we've had! Once again there has been so much happening in school that it is hard to fit everything in.

I've attached the school double newsletter for a summary of the main events but would urge you to follow us on Twitter @GarswoodPrimary to keep up with the events as they happen.

On the last day of the term we've had a must 'eggciting' time at the end of the term with our Easter 'Speggtacular' (Sorry - I can't help the egg puns - they 'crack' me up!) laugh Well done to all of those who entered the Easter bonnet parade and the Easter egg competition - they were of such an 'eggstremely' high standard. I was so glad not to be picking the winner - that unenviable task was left to the School Council.

Thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff who also celebrated with awarding children Easter gifts - recognition went to those children who always show 'eggcelent' manners and as usual they chose their Top Table winners for the week we return to school.

We celebrated 100% attendance with our raffle revealing the winner. Well done to Josephine who'll enjoy a chocolate feast as the prize this time! We also recognised the many children who 'Walk Once a Week' and the winning class for this half term was Year 6. Well done to all of those children who gained their first badge for walking once a week. Don't forget - it's open to everyone. Those who travel to school can park and stride - 'The Stag' have kindly offered their car park for this very purpose.

The winning house this half term were the Chestnuts. Well done Chestnuts who have shown a really commitment to entering the maths challenge this half term - which is sure to have made an impact on the house points.

Finally, it's always a treat to hear the wonderful celebration of our Citizens. The final week of every half term gives our merit award over to the Citizenship Award. Hard decisions are made as there are so  many children we could celebrate. Though it is a lovely opportunity to recognise and celebrate the attitudes and behaviours that makes Garswood School special. Well done to our Citizenship Award winners.
