Amazing arrows - a lesson in refraction

Year 6 have enjoyed exploring some of the phenomena of light. This week we looked at refraction and the effects of this. 

We looked at how images invert and tried to explain the reasons for this - we talked about focal points and lenses. We also drew images and watched as we added water to a glass on top of the image - it appeared to disappear when we covered the top of glass. We had lots of fun investigating and enjoyed the challenge of explaining it to our peers and then in our science books.
