Lesson: History

Class: Year 3 Year: 2022 - 2023

In Year 3, the children are learning about the Ancient Ancients, one of these civilisations is the Ancient Egyptians. Whilst we were in the Liverpool World Museum the children learnt a little about the Ancient Egyptians, they will be looking into this ancient civilisation in more depth in the Summer Term.

The children were set off in their groups to locate and discover for themselves which River the Ancient Egyptians settled near and to discover for themselves the different artefacts and what they are.  The children were each given a worksheet for them to write down any facts.

The children learnt that the Ancient Egyptians settled near the river Nile, and they wrote in a different type of writing called hieroglyphics.  They also discovered that they believed in the afterlife and would mummify their dead to preserve them for the afterlife.

The children also found the different artefacts like a hoe to help them in the fields and jewellery that they would have worn.
