What a way to start the year in Year 1.

Class: Year 1 Year: 2018 - 2019

As the children approached the school gates this morning, ripples of excitement spread. The sound of carnival drums greeted the children as they arrived. Katumba drummers played as happy children and parents entered the school grounds. What a way to make everyone feel good on the first day of the new year. It was delightful to see so many smiles and enthusiastic children rushing into the classroom. 

The Katumba drummers then led a workshop for us, which was amazing. The children were thrilled to be able to play the drums to a variety of beats whilst learning all about Brazil and the Amazon rainforest. We definitely have some super movers and groovers in Year 1. 

The day was filled with happy children, learning and playing with  friends. I am super excited for the year ahead and know we are going to have a great  year.
