Aliens in Computing

Lesson: Information and communication technology

Class: Year 5 Year: 2016 - 2017

Today we showed that all computing lessons don’t have to be on computers. We used our computational thinking skills to create a monster of the newly discovered planet Zuron. First we decomposed the monsters, looking at each of their features. We then found if there were any recurring patterns in the features of the monsters. The next stage was using the latest skill we learned; abstraction. Finally we formulated an algorithm so that other people would be able to identify the monster that we had created.
