Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
This is additional money given to the school, by the Government, for children in receipt of Free School Meals, Cared for Children and Children with parents who are in the Armed Forces.
- We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of the pupils
- We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of pupils in receipt of FSM are adequately assessed and addressed.
- In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged
- We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil, or groups of pupils, the school has legitimately identified as being vulnerable.
- As we have very few pupils entitled to FSM the Pupil Premium Grant will be allocated following identification of priority groups or individuals.
Garswood are award winners! - Again!
In 2015 we were delighted to be awarded with £1000 from the Government in recognition of being one the high achieving schools in the country in attainment and progress of pupils who are considered disadvantaged since 2011. Read the letter from the Rt Hon David Laws MP attached below.
When we achieved this again in 2016 and received a letter from Sam Gyimah MP - we were so proud - the letter is attached below.
What a fabulous accolade for Garswood Primary School!
