Uniform
Our school uniform instils pride; encourages children to understand expectations and rules which in turn supports positive behaviour and encourages identity with, and support for, our school ethos. It ensures all pupils feel welcome and it protects children from social pressures to dress in a particular way. It nurtures cohesion and promotes good relations between different groups of pupils.
The following uniform should be worn at all times:

No training shoes are allowed nor any shoe bearing a sports logo as they will be deemed trainers. If children are wearing boots to come to school then they must change into school shoes when they arrive. The exception to this is in the EYFS. Children spend considerable amount of time outside. Therefore snow boots are acceptable.
Only reading folder bags should be brought into school daily (no shoulder bags or rucksacks) as these fit neatly into the children's trays and leave the cloakroom less cluttered.
Long hair should be tied back with a dark hair grip and any hair bands should also be in a dark colour, with no large flowers or other accessories. No extreme hairstyles are allowed including mohicans, tramlines or shaved shapes.
No jewellery is permitted and only in recently pierced ears can studs be worn. A letter should be sent into school detailing when the earrings will be removed. On such occasions we would expect parents to provide enough plasters in order that the earrings can be covered during the twice weekly PE activities.
The following PE kit in a draw string labelled bag should be available in school at all times:

Please note that the school operates a uniform swap-shop. This means that when your child grows out of their uniform you may pop into school and change it for a larger size. We rely on our parents donating uniform that their children have outgrown and encourage all parents to make use of this money saving provision. If you have no clothing to donate then you're still welcome to take items and leave a small monetary donation.
Ask at the office to see Mrs Evans, our Family Support Worker or watch our for our coffee mornings when all the donated uniform will be available for people to browse.
