A very busy term
It certainly has been a busy start to a very busy term.
As Y6 prepare to head to London this week to take a trip on the Thames and a flight on the Eye, Y1 are revelling in their exciting trip to the Transport Museum - topping off their visit with a journey there and back on the train! Y5 loved visiting the caves in Ingleborough but have now turned their attention to a more local matter - revisiting the Dementia cafe in Garswood - their chosen charity this year. Their assembly this week is sure to give an insight into dementia and their sponsored walk on Friday will raise money for the charity and be remembered by the 'Forget-me-nots' they have planted in our forest school area.
Y6 SATs have now been completed and our attention turns to Y2 as they continue to complete their 'fun quizzes' and Y1 who will soon be completing their phonic screening check. We are so proud of all of the children and try to ensure we keep the stress to a minimum. Smiles are still seen beaming around the school.
We are delighted that we now have a science club after school on a Friday. Dance club has now ceased for the time being as has book club. Watch this space for more after school events as we head into the summer.
Welcome to our new nursery starters - everyone has settled so well as you can see from the galleries on the website. We also welcome those children who have secured a space at the school for September. The Reception team are currently in the process of scheduling home visits - for those wishing to have one - and organising some taster days. Exciting times ahead!
Please keep a close eye on Twitter as we keep you posted about the events as they happen in school and be sure to enjoy the run up to summer!
