New Year
Happy New Year! We are excited to be welcoming all children back on Wednesday 5th January 2022.
We have planned to get straight back in with an exciting dance day – with World Dance workshops from Movema. Movema also provide free adult zoom dance sessions for health and wellbeing. If you’re interested in this, more information can be found on their website.
I do hope you’ve managed to stay well over the school break but as we head back for the new term, we know the prevalence of COVID-19 still has the potential to cause upset and disruption. We will do what we can to support our community and keep you informed of any changes to guidance as we go through the year. The current guidance is very clear – children should attend school and absences should be avoided whenever possible. Holidays should not be taken during term time and any need to quarantine when you return from a trip overseas should also fall within the school holidays.
As ever, please keep your child at home if they display symptoms of COVID-19 and arrange a PCR test. Please try to do this at a testing site if at all possible, rather than by post – it is much quicker and reduces time away from school if it is negative.
If your child is awaiting the results of PCR and/or are isolating at home with COVID-19 – work will be made available via TEAMS (from Reception upwards) for those who are well enough. There will also be an expectation that, again, if the children are well enough, they access Maths Whizz/Seeds; read books (some are available online); and/or access Century Tech/Lexia if they have been given a username and password. If you do require a password reminder then contact school on [email protected]
If your child is absent from school, and you do not have access to a device for online/remote learning; we are able to provide a loan device for the period of your child’s isolation. Please let us know you need a loan device when you make contact to advise us of your child’s absence from school. It is important at all times to be aware of how to be safe online and what your child is accessing online. Further support on online safety can be found here.
As we do want to keep COVID-19 out of school, we need everyone's help.
- If your child is identified as a contact for someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 – they may still attend school but should take lateral flow tests every day for 7 days.
- Please wear masks on the school site – at drop off and collection (NB. School gates close at 8.55am) and should it be necessary to hold a face to face meeting, masks should be worn and we ask you take an LFD before attending.
- The isolation period has changed - more information will be sent home with our children but do keep upto date with the information on the Government website.
Thank you as ever for your support and I wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous new year.
