1920s
Lesson: History
Class: Year 5 Year: 2018 - 2019
Year 5 put in so much effort and dedication to learn all about the 1920s today as part of our school theme - decade in a day. The costumes were amazing from our fantastic flappers to our gallant gangsters - who managed to sing and dance their way to educating the rest of the school all about their decade. We learnt about Charlie Chaplin and his silent movies; Art Deco - recreating some designs of our own; Woman's rights and getting the vote; how the end of the Great War signalled celebratory times but how the decade ended on a bit of a low. Not to mention our fantastic Charleston dancers who managed to perfect a flawless routine in an hour. Couldn't be more proud of the dedication from all children today. In true Bugsy Malone style, you gave a little love and it all came back to you!
