Mr John Johnson, a local Hieroglyphics expert, came into Year 3 to talk about the Ancient Egyptians. Mr John Johnson showed children different maps of Egypt and the River Nile. He discussed the jobs the Egyptians did and how important the River Nile was and still is to the Ancient Egyptians and the Modern Egyptians. Mr Johnson also told the children some of the Ancient Gods and explained who they were, showed the children what they thought the Gods looked like and why these where important to the Ancient Egyptians. It was a fascinating and interesting workshop. John Johnson also brought in some ancient artefacts for the children to look, he also taught the children how to read Hieroglyphics! Some of the children tried writing their own hieroglyphics, it was a fascinating workshop and he answered lots of the children’s questions.
