Do bigger instruments make a louder sound?

The children have been hypothosizing and predicting in science this week.  The children wanted to find out the question - Do bigger instruments make a louder sound?  The children made predictions first and compared 9 different instruments of varying sizes.  In order to aid their investigations, the children measured the instruments and recorded the measurements in a table.  They will measure the volume of each instrument in decibels next week and check the results against their predictions.
