Do bigger seeds produce taller plants?

Y2 had lots of questions about the seeds we have been sorting and classifying.  Why are they different colours?  Why are they different sizes?  Why haven't the plants already grown?  These were just a few and Y2 have decided to carry out some investigations to find out the answers.  Today we measured and planted different sized seeds and talked about making the investigation fair.  We also planted the seeds in see through cups so that we can watch the germination process and see the plant break through the seed coat. We will observe what happens over the next few weeks.
