Fun food chains!

Class: Year 2 Year: 2016 - 2017

Y2 have been learning about animals and their habitats.  We learnt about food chains and how animals are dependent on other living things to provide food for energy.  We looked at the food chain of an owl and everyone made a mask to represent either the sun, a plant, an insect, a mouse or an owl. We learnt new vocabulary such as producer, consumer, herbivore, onmivore and carnivore.  We went outside and played games using our masks to show how the food chain works.  Chiildren even thought about what might happen if one of the pieces of the chain was destroyed.
