Class: Year 1 Year: 2022 - 2023
Year 1 have been studying significant individuals from St Helens as part of their History work, looking in particular at the lives and achievements of Lily Parr and Steve Prescott.
We were lucky enough to have Linzi Prescott from the Steve Prescott foundation come in to class to talk to the children about Steve's life, career, achievements and his charity work. She even brought his caps and his very special MBE to show us too.
We also were visited by member of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust who delivered a session about the achievements of Lily Parr and other female footballers. The children then took part in a football skills session outside which they throughly enjoyed. We certainly have some footballing stars of the future in our class.
