The World of Glass

Y2 enjoyed a very fun and informative visit to The World of Glass and I was delighted with the comments from staff about the general behaviour and manners of the children - well done!

The children took part in workshops throughout the morning such as glass painting; exploring the underground tunnels of the furnace and a glass properties investigation.  We learned what glass is made from and also the different metals that are added to make coloured glass. In the afternoon we enjoyed a video and a glass blowing demonstration - we even got to take home our own coloured glass plate and our painted glasses.
