Trip to the Liverpool World Museum - Aquarium.
Lesson: Science
Class: Year 3 Year: 2022 - 2023
The children, in Year 3, loved exploring the aquarium, their task was to locate the different aquatic creatures, write the creatures name or some information and then what type of skeleton it had.
Year 3 went around the aquarium in their groups, they collaborated, read, asked questions and discovered that the different creatures in the aquarium all have different types of skeletons. The children had already learnt about the different types of skeletons in class and the different classifications this was to further enable the children discover this for themselves.
They had to circle whether a creature was a vertebrate or invertebrate and then the type of skeleton they had. Hydrostatic skeleton, endoskeleton or exoskeleton. Well, done Year 3 you were super scientist classifying all the aquatic creatures.
